“My name is Glennette Clark and I am a designer with a head for business. I am passionate about consumer-focused innovation and experience strategy, and employ my data analysis and UX research expertise to help companies discover opportunities and growth.
I am passionate about seeing more people who look like me with a seat at the leadership table at tech companies. I am a committed advocate for bridging the gap in gender and minority opportunities in tech startups, and am most proud of founding UXCamp and Mobile UXCamp. Join our fireside chat with Meryanne Loum-Martin (@meryanneinspired) is an award-winning Parisian lawyer, a self-taught architect and interior designer. Of Senegalese and West Indian descent, she had worked, travelled and lived in four continents by the age of thirty. She might well be the only person to have received prestigious awards in such diverse fields as law, design and hospitality. She lives in Marrakech, Morocco, where the rich culture is a constant source of inspiration for creatives. She is also a cultural entrepreneur with a focus on hospitality and sustainable land development. Her first design project was a private property in Marrakech, that she turned into an innovative boutique villa rental concept which won the Harpers & Queen “Best Private villa in the world” award in 2002.
She restored an old riad in the Medina of Marrakech, transforming it into a concept store that made thecover of Amex’s “ Departures” Magazine with the title “ The essence of chic.”
She then went on to design, own and run Marrakech’s first boutique hotel (@jnanetamsna) where the gardens are as important as the interiors. As The Wall Street Journal Europe wrote in 2002, Mrs. Loum-Martin was “the first one to create a new type of tourism that appeals to affluent Western society. She has contributed enormously to the style of Marrakesh.”
She develops projects rooted in cultural heritage, design and conservation, all of which are leveraged by the highest international standards. They have been featured extensively in international magazines, including the Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, French Vogue, Italian Vogue, British Vogue, German Vogue, Condé Nast Traveller, Elle Décor, Coté Sud, New York Times, Town & Country, and more. Her book Inside Marrakech is published by Rizzoli, being their first release by a Black author in international luxury lifestyle. https://www.rizzoliusa.com/book/9780847864270/”
